OUR LEADERSHIP
Meet Pastor Young
Reverend Young Kang is passionate about helping people experience the life-changing power of Jesus. As the Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, he brings a heart for the local church, a love for people, and a vision to see families live out their God-given purpose.
Reverend Kang is an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church who brings a rich and diverse professional background to his pastoral ministry. Before answering his call to ordained service, he served as a pilot in the United States Air Force, where he developed strong leadership, discipline, and a deep sense of responsibility—qualities that continue to shape his ministry today.
He studied philosophy and literature at New Mexico State University, cultivating a lifelong love for thoughtful inquiry, ethics, and the power of language. He later earned his Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School, where he deepened his theological formation and commitment to faithful preaching and pastoral care.
Reverend Kang now serves with a heart for Scripture-centered worship, spiritual growth, and compassionate community engagement. Drawing from his military service, academic training, and theological education, he leads with steadiness, reflection, and a deep desire to help others grow in faith and discipleship.
With decades of ministry experience, Reverand Kang has a unique gift for making the truths of God’s Word practical and powerful. His leadership is marked by a deep reliance on the Holy Spirit, a commitment to raising up the next generation, and a drive to create a church where everyone—from every background—can encounter the presence of God.
More than anything, Rev. Kang wants people to know: Jesus sees you, loves you, and wants to do something extraordinary through your life.
